From Jayski

Joe, John Hunter Nemechek to run as teammates UPDATE: There could be a pair of Nemecheks racing against each other at Daytona International Speedway next month. If Joe and John Hunter Nemechek both qualify for the NextEra Energy Resources 250, it will mark the first time since 2006 that there will be a father-son duo in the Camping World Truck Series at Daytona. Bobby Hamliton Sr. and Bobby Hamilton Jr. were the last father-son combination to compete together at DIS. NEMCO Motorsports will field Chevrolet Silverados for both Joe and John Hunter in the first three races of 2017. Joe Nemechek, the 1992 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion will pilot the #87 Fleetwing truck. John Hunter, 19, who won at both Atlanta Motor Speedway and Canadian Tire Motorsports Park last year before finishing eighth in the truck standings in his first full season on the tour, will continue driving the #8 Fire Alarm Services Chevy. The Nemecheks have raced each other three times during their careers. John Hunter bested his father in the Allison Legacy Race at Concord Speedway in 2011 with the Nemecheks coming home in first and second-place. The son outran the father again in the series at Carolina Motorsports Park with John Hunter finishing third and Joe racing to a fourth-place result. In their only start toghether in the ARCA Midwest Tour, Joe finished sixth in the 2013 Howie Lettow Memorial 150 at the Milwaukee Mile. John Hunter was 12th. The last time a father and son competed against one another in the truck series was Dave and Ryan Blaney in the 2013 Inaugural Eldora Speedway Dirt Derby.(Motorsport)(1-20-2017)
UPDATE: NASCAR has always been known as a family sport where the love of racing has been passed from generation to generation. In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) NextEra Energy Resources 250 at the Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on Friday, February 24, John Hunter Nemechek will have the opportunity few sons have enjoyed: competing against his father, 1992 NASCAR XFINITY Series champion Joe Nemechek. the Nemecheks will even be running for the same team - family-owned NEMCO Motorsports, which will field John Hunter Nemechek full-time in the #8 Fire Alarm Services, Inc., Chevrolet for 2017, and will also field Joe Nemechek in the #87 Fleetwing Chevrolet in a select number of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events.(NEMCO Motorsports)(1-20-2017)

Can you really make money in the Truck Series? Without major, major sponsorship, I would think it to be a losing proposition. Wouldn't it be better for Joe and JH to focus on moving up to the next level?

Yes, I know they may get some free publicity out of this, but what if one or both cars wreck at a venue that always has multiple wrecks.

Just wondering!

It is in preparation. JOHN ran really well last year and into the chase. It still costs less to run in the trucks than it does in the next series. etc. So unless someone is going to pick him up, i suspect he continues to hone his skills.
Never gonna quit. NEMCO is legit!
